Thursday morning and all is well!

Carl is busy with Dr. appts. again today and then we are off to the metal store. We are getting ready for the next phase of the gate installation. The gates look great and will be just wonderful once they are installed. It is a big complex job to install the gates but we are about half way through.

I may start a training class at a local Adult Education Center, its a prep class for a test for a job at the LAUSD. This should make it simple to pass the test for the job. It's a great place to start at the LAUSD and will make it easy to move up in the District.

Shadow came through her surgery yesterday just fine and is recovering. She had a large cyst removed that had become infected. She is getting alot of these growths now that she is older. She is doing alot better on her RX's now and her heart sounds great. Everyday is blessing, now that she is 15.

Mike is doing great, working and loving his new job. He just completed a big project and that went very well and the clients were very happy and sent him a gift. It's good to be appreciated. Me and Carl are so glad to see him in a position that he loves and they love him. He has definitely found his people.

Talk to you soon.

So much has happened!

Well I have finally got back to blogging. Carl has had heart bypass surgery, they repaired 4 arteries. He is doing very well and feels much better than before the surgery. He is now preparing to go back to work, we think this Monday, the 30th.

We all just returned from a short vacation up to Pine Flats Lake. We came back relaxed and tan. It is always nice to relax on the houseboat and swim in the Lake, we all needed alittle down time after the last few months.

Our garden is doing well and I harvested the first tomato today from one of our bushes. We tried heirloom tomatoes this year and are not having very good luck with them. They are not setting fruit. I have already tried adding minerals to the soil but that has not helped. I'll ask google and see what I can find out.

Bye for now and I hope it won't be very long till my next post.

Friday Morning and all is well!

All is well at home and we are going into a busy week-end. We are having dinner with friends tonight at a favorite Mexican restaurant, Saturday me and Mike will be working at one of our clients pre-school to upgrade and repair their computers and Saturday night we are going to a friends play. He has been trying to break into acting for awhile and has had some success. This is a play put on by his acting class and has his son in a small part too, it should be fun. Sunday is the Herb and Tomato Festival at Encinitas. I am looking forward to that alot because of the plant sale, they always have lots of new and heirloom varities that are not available in the local nurseries.

I'll report back after this week-end.

Back at home

We are back at home and enjoying a few days of vacation at home. Carl is busy working on garage projects. He is getting our seadoo trailer ready for the summer months. He will also be tuning up the ski's and washing and waxing them. It's that time again.

I am busy with taxes, catching up with laundry and household stuff after the vacation. I did get a tomato plant for the garden, a Brandywine heirloom variety. I keep hearing about them and are looking forward to trying the fruit.

Catch you later.

More on Monterey!

We visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was just magical. Me and Carl had not been since Mike was about 3 and we had not seen the Outer Bay exhibit. The Aquarium is alot of fun and educational too. We got a 2 day pass at our B & B for the same price as a day pass and that gives you alot more flexibility. I would recommend the Aquarium for everyone.

Carmel is so charming. We drove along the 17 mile drive and saw the golfers on Pebble Beach. What a charmed life some people live.

We had one day of rain but all the others were sunny. It was cool though, we needed jackets and long pants.

More to come.

Home from vacation!

We got home from Carmel Wednesday evening. We had a great time on vacation. It was our first experience with a B & B, we stayed at the Martine Inn right on the ocean in Pacific Grove. It was just wonderful. Beautiful old house with antiques and plenty of room to enjoy the view. They had a great breakfast, and a late afternoon snack of fruit and wine. They also had cookies, fruit, coffee and tea available all the time. The room had a fireplace and a claw foot tub. We had a fire everynight and that was fun. Mike of course took care of the fire, he has always been alittle fire bug. We enjoyed just sitting by the fire and reading. No TV's in the rooms. It was relaxing and nice to have someone local you could ask questions.

We ate at Passionfish in Pacific Grove and it was just great. Wonderful food and a comforting atmosphere.

Will talk more about the trip soon.
